Innovative instructional designer to produce online courses

Job Description

We are looking for an experienced instructional designer with a specialization in digital content. You will join a team to create courses for the GLOBIS Unlimited, video-based online. Courses cover MBA-level business topics.

Your main focus will be adapting existing content or producing and developing new course material for the online medium in collaboration with faculty members. You will be involved in all phases of course creation and development, including planning and research, structural design, multimedia production, and implementation.

This role will require coordination with many stakeholders, including faculty members and video production vendors. You will be part of a dynamic, entrepreneurial team and will be expected to proactively, flexibly, and independently work beyond set responsibilities in order to meet business goals.

Produce online course content, including scenarios, slides, scripts, quizzes, and other supplemental materials in collaboration with faculty members
・Adapt existing course content to the online medium
・Research best practices for online courses
・Actively contribute to meet enrollment, completion, and satisfaction goals


Requirements and Considerations
・3+ years of experience in educational content or training design
・Knowledge of effective pedagogical practices
・Experience working independently and proactively in a dynamic environment
・Experience managing and delivering multiple projects at the same time
・Native English ability with strong writing skills
・Intermediate Japanese ability both written and spoken (JLPT N2 or above preferred)

Desired Skills
・Bachelor’s degree in Instructional Design, Education, Business, or related field
・Working knowledge of MBA-level business curriculum
・Graphic design and video production skills, including Adobe Illustrator and Premiere Pro

Conditions of Employment

Employment Status
Full-time position

Working HoursFlexible working hours (monthly hours must be met)

Remuneration Determined in accordance with corporate guidelines as well as through consultation and due consideration for experience and capabilities.
・Two weekly holidays (Weekend work occasionally required with a substitute holiday taken during the week)
・20 days of yearly leave (up to 40 days can be carried year-to-year), excluding probation period with 5 days of paid leave
・New Year’s leave (from December 29 to January 4), marriage leave, condolence leave, natural disaster leave, maternity/paternity leave, sabbaticals (after 5 and 10 consecutive years)

Salary depends on work experience, skills and abilities.
・Salary adjustment will take place once a year in July
